purple corduroy fabric

Corduro Wale Pile Fabric This one-of-a-kind cloth is a Cord woolen fabric, woven to feature vertical tires of plies (known as cords). It is super soft and feels comfortable the second you run your fingers over it. The fabric is woven such that it makes solid lines that appear almost like very small cords. For those out there who have never actually felt corduroy, picture velvet crossed with these grooves alongside of it.

Understanding Corduroy Fabric

Corduroy is traditionally made using cotton fibers. Weave the fabric and cut cords into it. These cords are also mildly brushed in order to add an additional soft touch. While the fabric is being brushed, this layer of dyestuff is what causes it to have that brilliant purple color.

History of the Purple Corduroy Fabric

Purple corduroy was all the rage in the groovy 1970s. Back when purple corduroy trousers and jackets were the bees knees. Whilst the fabric is still extremely popular today, it may not be as ubiquitous however.
