Or perhaps they want fabric that is durable and can endure. Then, when we know what they need, the team gets to work. We take different materials and put them together in a way so we have a fabric that’s just for them. It’s as if you had to devise a custom recipe for each brand. The bespoke fabric journey

Designing custom fabrics is an art in itself. At DoTexTile we design as artists. We don’t only make a fabric, we produce a work-of-art which captures the brand’s vision. Our method involves a good deal of playing around. Occasionally we mix colors and see what new shade we can create. We also experiment with weaving the cloth in a new manner to make it look or feel different. The fun is experimenting, to see what works best. We want to create a fabric that looks amazing but also tells a story of the brand.

When the top brands in Bangladesh approach us, they have a very clear idea about how they want their clothes to feel. Here at DoTexTile, it's our responsibility to ensure that the polyester taffeta fabric fits that vision as well. This could mean a fabric that is extra shiny or one that has a very detailed print. We have a very close relationship with the brand throughout the entire process. They say what they do like and what they don’t like and we continue to tweak the fabric until we hit the right note. It’s a collaboration, and we make sure the brand is happy with the final product. 

Behind the scenes of producing custom-made fabrics

A lot happens behind the scenes at DoTexTile when we design custom textiles. It begins with our designers who dream up ideas. Our technicians then take over and work out how to bring those ideas to reality.” They’ll probably need to tweak the machines or test other materials. There is a lot of making some mistakes, but that’s why we end up getting there in the end. And it’s not just the technical things. Our team also considers how the cloth will be applied. For fancy dresses, or cozy t-shirts? This informs things like what kind of fabric to use (how thick, how stretchy, etc.).
