7 different types of rib knit fabric you need to know about.

Types of Rib Knit Fabric 

In reality, there are 7 different kinds of rib knit fabrics and pongee fabric. Each has its own features and works well with different types of garments. Here is a simple breakdown of each type:

Interlock Rib Knit: A double sided fabric with raised lines of stitches on both sides. DRY, Strong Fabric Great for Active Wear (Sports Bras and Leggings) Most of the time it works out very well due to its shape holding features which makes it easy for on the go function. 

Baby Rib Knit: This cotton fabric features a tiny rib that is both textured and knit to create a stretchy hold along with silky softness. Usually this is used on thinner T-shirts or tank tops/camis. A really soft on the skin fabric so you can imagine this made for kids and babies. 

This is a rib knit that has a small herringbone pattern woven into the fabric themselves, the cooling visual way of adding texture. Its moisture-wicking textile is more common with jackets and vests for a fashionable cold-weather look. The pattern is so trendy and completely takes the outfit to a different level. 

Cable Rib Knit: These have lines that appear to be cables and seem to be going vertically.
